About Shawn Jeffries
With a background and undying interest in reptiles and close up photography I finally decided to get serious about my Images. I'm currently a student at SBCC in their Photography classes learning all over again how to take pictures from Film to Digital. My life till now has always been a busy one, from the reptile and fish industry, to the Army Infantry, and a Culinary degree to Sous Chef. I've always been a get out there and do things kind of person. Coming down with a chronic pain issue has had me derail my life up till now, only to put it back together in a new format. Photography has given me a focus, I can do this with my current abilities on my own time. Now I have to see if I can make a living at it. My Photographic interests started in the late '70s with a Canon TX body and a 50mm lens. When that died on me I got a Canon AE-1 Program and continued on trying to make due with what I had. Not really understanding manual settings and not paying to much attention in school at the time, I only took images on Auto... But it didn't stop me from taking pictures, just not that many good ones Haha. Fast Forward to a few years ago when I found out I needed to do something to keep from going crazy by my condition. I bought a new camera, a Canon 60D and a 180mm Macro lens, and a new found desire to really learn how to use it. Currently I'm still taking classes, but I have already discovered that the same things I loved taking pictures of 30 years ago are by and far the same things I want to shoot now, only I now know how to transmit that image in front of me onto my sensor/film (I still shoot film with several older cameras). I am still growing and learning... Groups I Admin... Cast Iron Cookware Vintage Glass Honey Bees Things That Cut Lizards of North America https://www.gofundme.com/2bh83nw
